Writing Hacks: 6 Effective Ways to Improve your Writing Stamina

Writing for long periods of time can leave you mentally exhausted—a predicament that can definitely impair your PTE Academic performance. Since the PTE Academic Writing exam is one of the first components of the high-stakes exam, it is imperative that you build up your writing stamina so that you could keep your cognitive competence for the rest of the test.

Any PTE review center worth its salt can help examinees strengthen their writing stamina. PTE review center instructors teach their students how to harness their composition creativity and maintain their idea flow. They also use up-to-date mock exams to help their students adjust to the evaluation’s demands.

Maintain your writing and thinking energy throughout the PTE Academic exam. Here are some of the things that you can do to enhance your writing stamina.

• Write regularly – Just like how you build up your physical endurance through exercise, you can fortify your writing stamina by writing constantly. Establish a composition practice schedule and stick to it.

• Write purposely – Set a system when you practice writing. If you are building up your endurance for a specific exam, tailor your practice specifications around it. For instance, if you are preparing for the PTE Academic essay component, customize your writing exercise to require 200–300 words. Make sure that you finish your writing activities within 20 minutes—as it is the time limit applied to the PTE evaluation.

• Exercise – Moving around enhances your blood circulation which improves your cognitive performance. Avoid sitting for long periods of time to stave off back problems and joint aches. If you are confined to your writing space, do stretches and sitting exercises.

• Take a walk – A change of scenery can help refresh your brain. Stroll through places with excellent natural air like your neighborhood park to increase your oxygen intake. The increase of oxygenated blood in your system can improve your concentration and retention.

• Stick to a healthy diet - Eating unhealthy food will impair not only your mental performance but also your overall brain health. Supplement your writing stamina practices with brain-boosting food.

Keep yourself hydrated – Drink plenty of water to fight off fatigue and energy depletion. Keep in mind that dehydration not only strengthens your immune system, but it also stimulates your mental performance.
Do not jeopardize your PTE Academic score by taking the exam with your cognitive performance compromised. Incorporate these practices into your PTE preparations to step closer to securing your score goal.
