Top Tips for Describe Image in PTE Speaking

Describe Image is the fourth task type of the PTE Speaking exam. Here’s how it works.

·         The page is divided into two parts: on the left side is the image you need to describe and on the right side is a recording box.

·         The recording box displays a countdown status once you enter the page. You have 25 seconds to analyze the image and prepare your description.

·         Once the countdown ends, you’ll hear a short tone, and the microphone automatically opens. Deliver your description immediately.

·         You have 40 seconds to speak.

Don’t underestimate the Describe Image section of the PTE exam. Enroll in the best provider of review for PTE in Cebu to get to know its pressures and demands. Then, practice the tips below.

PTE Cebu

1.    Focus on the image’s key information
This is the first strategy most providers of PTE review in Cebu teach their students. Study the picture. Then, determine the main idea of the image and identify the details supporting it. It’ll help you structure your description better.

2.    Use your erasable booklet.
Outline your response on your erasable booklet to make sure you cover every pertinent detail of the image. You don’t have to write in complete sentences. Simply jot down keywords and phrases. Make sure your response has an introduction of the image’s general content before diving into its main point and providing supporting details.

3.    Start speaking as soon as you hear the tone.
You only have one chance to record your response. So, make the most of it.
Anticipate the tone and speak as soon as you hear it. Pace yourself and deliver your response as clearly as possible. Don’t stop is you mispronounce a word. Keep these in mind when you answer speaking exercises during your PTE Cebu course.

4.    Keep an eye on the audio recorder.
As mentioned before, the audio recorder will tell you how much prep time you have before it starts recording. That’s not the only status feature it’ll display. Once the countdown ends, the center of the box will read “recording.” A volume indicator will appear on its left side, and its bottom part will show you how much time you have left before the 40-second recording time ends. Keep an eye on these features when you speak. It’ll help you track your progress and monitor your performance.

Don’t stop with the Describe Image task type. Refine your strategy for the other sections of the PTE exam as well. Enroll in the JRooz center for PTE review in Cebu to learn more ways to supercharge your test performance!
