What to Expect on Your PTE Test Date

The PTE exam can make or break your plans to study, work, or migrate abroad. Which is why it’s crucial that you come prepared on your test date.

Enrolling in PTE Academic is one of the best methods to prepare for the test. PTE instructors provide comprehensive courses about the test essentials and use up-to-date practice exams to gauge their student’s progress. They also teach useful strategies that are specifically tailored to the demands of the high-stakes exam.

Aside from taking training courses, another sure-fire way to improve your chances of getting your desired PTE score is to know what to expect on your test date.

What to Expect on the Exam Day

When you arrive at your designated test center, the PTE examiner will not immediately start the exam. You have to complete a check-in process first. Here’s how it will go.

  1. The test administrators will ask you to provide copies of your ID.
  2. Then they will get your digital photograph and signature taken.
  3. After that, they will have your palm scanned digitally.

After the check-in procedure, the test administrator will assign you a private booth. It is very likely that there are other examinees around you, so you will be able to hear them speak.

How PTE Academic Can Help You Prepare

As mentioned before, enrolling in PTE Academic is one of the best ways to train for the language exam—and it’s not just because instructors can help you master the test inside out. PTE teachers can also help you make sure everything goes well on your test date. Here’s how.

  • PTE Academic coaches will give you reminders about what you should bring on your test date. Here are some of the things they’ll reiterate on their last class.
    • Due to the check-in process, you have to arrive at least 30 minutes before your exam. If you are going to be late, inform the relevant PTE customer service team.
    • If you fail to arrive on your test date, you will not receive a refund.
    • If you cancel your exam before your test date, you may get a partial refund.
    • The identification documents you present in the check-in process must contain the same details that you entered when you booked your test.
    • It is important that the ID you present is accepted by the test facility. If you are a Filipino who is taking the exam in the Philippines, you can provide your:
      • Passport
      • National Identification card
      • Social Security System ID
      • Unified Multi-Purpose ID
      • Military Identification card
      • Government-issued driver’s license
      • Professional Regulation Commission (PRC ID)
    • You must bring the original copy of ID. The test administrators will not allow you to take the exam if you fail to do so. Keep in mind that the exam fee is non-refundable.
  • PTE Academic coaches will help you acclimate to the exam’s computerized format. If you are not computer-savvy, they can teach you the essential skills you need to take the test.
  • If you have a disability, PTE Academic coaches will give you a run-through of the accommodations or assistance you can request.

Make sure that you have everything you need on your test date. Enroll in PTE Academic today to boost your chances of securing your PTE score goal.
