PTE
online training is more
effective and efficient if done not just with your brawn, but with your brain
as well. What are we saying? Simple: you have to be smart!
“Smart” is this
generation’s buzzword. Smartphones, smart appliance, smart homes—everything are
becoming “smart,” gaining the ability to do things faster, better, and more
efficient. An English review center worth their salt, like JRooz PTE, will not
only teach you that hard work pays off. More than that, “smart” work pays more!
Here are a few
smart review tips you can use to ace the PTE.
READING TEST STRATEGIES
1.
Hone your vocabulary. The more words you know, the easier, reading becomes.
Building an extensive vocabulary not only is helpful for your PTE Reading Test
but will help you in real life as well.
2.
Well, read, of course. Speaking of loading up on your vocabulary words, there’s
no better way to do so than by reading up on materials of various genres. Don’t
limit yourself with your PTE online course study
materials. Read novels, poems, news articles, blogs—whatever you can get your
hands on.
SPEAKING TEST STRATEGIES
3.
Be direct.
The Speaking Test has a strict time limit. Don’t waste time dilly-dallying with
your answer. Go straight to your main argument!
4.
Choose variety.
Speaking in simple sentences throughout your answer can create a monotone
statement. That won’t score well. Practice speaking in complex and compound
sentences, as well.
5.
Don’t waste time.
You are given only 10 to 40 seconds to answer. Learn to gather your thoughts quickly
and respond at once without hesitation. A silence of three seconds or longer
automatically ceases the microphone’s recording. Be careful.
WRITING TEST STRATEGIES
6.
Grammar is key.
Arguably the most challenging part of the PTE, the Writing Test can be made
more accessible by brushing up on your grammar. Sentence structures,
capitalizations, punctuation marks—everything can affect your final score.
7.
Take note of the word count. Your answers will become invalid if
they exceed the word count. Most limits would range between five and 75 words.
Check the word limit. You can also train your eye to know how your writing
looks like at specific word counts.
8.
Value structure.
All writing should have a beginning, middle, and end. Establish your argument
at the beginning, provide information in the middle, and have a strong ending.
Contain your thoughts in an organized structure, and you’ll not get lost.
LISTENING TEST STRATEGIES
9.
Take down notes.
Jotting down essential details is an important skill you’ll need to learn. Take
note only of the important stuff, and don’t write down everything. That will
only slow you down.
10.
Double check.
Before handing your final answers, review your spelling, grammar, punctuation,
and subtle details like figures and other data.
