Most PTE test
takers believe grammar knowledge only has an impact on their writing
performance. So, they don’t put much effort into honing their grammar and
structure know-how during their training period. Don’t commit the same mistake.

Sharpen your
grammar proficiency during your training period. Enroll in a PTE exam preparation online course and develop your
proofreading skills. Make sure all your answers are free of the following
grammar mistakes.
1. Inconsistent Subject and Verbs
While
subject–verb inconsistency is an elementary mistake, many exam takers still
commit it due to PTE’s high-pressure demands and time constraints. Make sure
you’re not one of them. Always check the subjects of your sentences and their respective
verbs. If the subject is singular, use the s-form of the verb. Use the base
form of the verb otherwise.
2. Inaccurate Articles
Articles
inconsistencies are easy to overlook. So, pay close attention to them when you
proofread your work and responses.
·
Use
a definite article (the) when referring to a person, object, or concept that
was previously mentioned.
·
Use
indefinite articles (a, an) when introducing a person, object, or concept.
·
Precede
singular countable nouns with an article or a determiner.
·
Don’t
use articles when speaking in general.
If
you’re preparing with PTE online packages, make
a habit out of checking your article applications when answering practice
exams.
3. Incorrect Pronoun Usage
Here’s
another elementary mistake that many test takers commit. Proper pronoun
reference is crucial to maintaining a passage’s clarity, especially in
sentences that have two or more nouns. So, always double-check your pronoun
usage. Make sure the reader won’t be
confused about what or whom a pronoun attributes to.
4.Improper Punctuation
Punctuation
marks are not sentence embellishment. They are essential sentence components. Make
sure all your written answers in the PTE exam are properly punctuated. Here are
some of the most common mistakes you need to avoid.
·
Failing
to place a comma after an introductory word, phrase, or clause
·
Misplacing
the apostrophe when marking singular/plural possessive nouns
·
Misplacing
the apostrophe when marking contractions
·
Forgetting
to place a comma in-between two or more independent clauses in a compound
sentence
Are
you attending a PTE exam preparation online
course? If so, practice proper punctuation. When answering mock tests, always
proofread your answers before moving on to the next item.
Poor grammar
knowledge can drag down your performance, not only in the writing exam but the
listening, reading, and speaking exams as well. So, make sure your PTE answers
and responses are free of grammatical inconsistencies. Keep an eye out for
these common grammar mistakes. Enroll in excellent PTE online packages to learn more ways to ace the life-changing test.
