PTE Academic Score Report
The PTE
Academic score report is a thermometer-style scale that shows the result of your
test. It is scored by the Global Scale of English gives provides an accurate
overview of test takers performance on a scale of 10–90. The scoring system of
the PTE online test is based on complex
algorithms that were verified by testing a data sample of over 10,000 students
with over 120 native languages. PTE Academic score report has several sections:- your personal information;
- your overall score; and
- a detailed breakdown of your performance (communicative and enabling skills scores).

Personal Information
As the name
suggests, this section contains all of your personal information relevant to
the PTE Academic test. It includes the following:
- test taker’s ID
- date of birth
- country of citizenship
- country of residence
- email address
- registration ID
- test date
- test center country
- test center ID
- report issue date
- validity date of your scores
- your most recent photo
Overall Score
Located at the
upper left of the PTE Academic score report, the overall score reflects your
overall English language ability. It is based on your performance on all items
in the test. The range for the overall score is between 10 and 90 points.
Communicative Skills Scores
Scores for
communicative skills are based on your performances in each PTE Academic
component:
- Listening test
- Reading test
- Writing test
- Speaking test
The score range
for each component in the PTE online test is between
10 and 90 points.
Enabling Skills Scores
Scores for
enabling skills are based on your performances in the PTE Academic speaking and
writing tests. The following are the components of the enabling skills scores:
- Grammar – correct use of language with proper word order in each sentence.
- Oral fluency – smooth, effortless, and natural-paced delivery of the speech.
- Pronunciation – production of speech sounds is understandable to most regular speakers of the language.
- Spelling – writing of words according to the spelling rules of the English language.
- Vocabulary – appropriate choice of words used to express meaning, as well as lexical range.
- Written discourse – an accurate structure of a written text, has internal coherence, logical development and uses a variety of linguistic resources to express meaning precisely.
