Do you want to make every
second of your PTE online test review course
count? Keep your retention skills in top condition. Integrate the following
memory techniques into your PTE training to master and retain your lectures in
the shortest time possible.
1. Take a walk
Having
a hard time getting into the right mindset for PTE
online review? Get a change of scenery. Take a walk around your home or
neighborhood. Studies show that walking heightens cognitive activity by at
least 25% as it stimulates the brain areas that have grown idle after sitting
still for extended periods. So, spend your study breaks away from your desk.
It’ll help you maintain your mental awareness better.
2. Do it again
Repetition
is one of the best ways to retain something for a long time.
So,
integrate it into your PTE training. Rewrite or recite information that you
need to memorize repeatedly. Answer as many practice tests as you can. Consider
the items that you always get wrong and focus on overcoming them.
3. Maximize your notes
Just
because you’ve taken down notes by hand doesn’t mean that you’ll remember
everything. Don’t let your notes gather dust after your PTE online test review session. Use them. Review, rewrite, and
summarize them. Then, transform them into something that caters to your learning
style.
If
you’re a visual learner, use a graphic organizer. Reformat your notes into
concept map, diagram, table, or chart. If you’re an auditory learner, record
yourself reading your notes out loud. Listen to your recordings during your
free time.
4. Utilize mnemonic devices
From
simple lists to complex concepts, mnemonic devices can help you remember just
about anything. It involves assigning the information to something that can
prompt recall. It can be a phrase, a series of letters, a sentence, a rhyme or
anything else that you can easily remember. For example, to remember the four
cardinal directions, you can use the sentence “Never eat soggy waffles.” “Never” for north, “eat” for east, “soggy”
for south, and “waffles” for west.
5. Teach someone your lessons
Preferably
someone who doesn’t know the topic you are going to discuss. Why? Because it’ll
really challenge your understanding of the subject like no other. You’ll know
you’ve mastered the topic when you can answer any question your student has
about it.
Set yourself up for PTE success. Keep
your retention skills on-point throughout your PTE online review course with these memory-boosting techniques!
